Large French JP Ehalt Sideboard with Marble top

£5,995.00Price
A lovely large mahogany French Louis XVI style sideboard by J.P. Ehalt. It is dates from early-mid 20th century and features a thick marble top which is detachable. The marble is white in colour and is in perfect condition. The piece has elaborate marquetry inlays featuring vases and parquetry. It has gilt metal elements throughout the piece which are ribbon and foliate patterned and are all in beautiful presentation. The far left cupboard opens up to a light with a mirrored back and two smaller glass shelves. The light has been PAT tested by an electrician and has been changed to a UK socket, meaning it functions properly. The middle left hand cupboard opens up to four internal drawers that open smoothly with the beautiful ornate handles and the other cupboards open up onto wooden shelves. There are two keys that open each of the cupboard doors and the locks work perfectly apart from the far left hand cupboard is a bit tricky to open. The whole piece is raised on fluted tapered legs and ending in capped feet.It has been imported from France and has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled well and is in overall excellent conditon apart from the small scratch at the bottom of the right hand door.I have an almost identical piece listed! We make our pieces as durable as we can to resist little fingerprint and general day to day life in busy houses, however they are vinatage items and not indestructible therefore we advise the following:to be careful when handling and to always use coasters for drinksclean with mild soap and a damp cloth and not to use any polishbe mindful if placing in direct sunlight as this can cause fadingbe cautious with perfumed diffusers and alcohol as this can dissolve the finish Antique & vintage We hand select the prettiest vintage finds, sourcing them from as far as France and the rest of the UK before shipping them to us for their transformation. We are extremely selective in this process and will only choose to work on pieces that don’t need major repairs and are already in excellent condition to ensure we provide the best pieces! In the case that there is an antique piece too good to pass on, we will always photograph these knocks and bumps as best as possible, but if you have any queries please contact us.The interior of these pieces all get cleaned and either waxed or oiled to make them shine again!I recommend using tumble drier sheets in the drawers/cupboards to keep them smelling fresh for longer.
