Restored Antique Oak Sideboard / Desk / Console with Quartz Top
A characterful antique oak sideboard, Circa 1880-1900, beautifully restored to bring out its natural grain and decorative detailing, and finished with a new quartz top.
Width - 176cm
Depth - 58cm
Height - 88cm
Believed to date from the late Victorian period, circa 1880–1900, this piece displays Aesthetic Movement influences through its carved floral roundels, geometric panelling and decorative frieze. The symmetrical design, turned feet and distinctive metal handles give it an elegant presence.
The old finish has been removed through soda blasting, followed by careful sanding to reveal the oak beneath. A light whitewash creates a softer, natural tone, while two coats of water-based polyurethane protect the finished wood. The interior has been cleaned and oiled, and a new quartz top adds a fresh, contemporary finish.
Two side cupboards and a central drawer provide practical storage, while the open centre gives the piece a lighter silhouette. It would make a beautiful addition to a dining room, living room or spacious hallway.
Restored by homewithally, this is an individual piece combining period character with a finish suited to modern interiors.
No keys, cupboards operate on magnets to open and close shut.
As antique furniture, it retains age-related marks and natural variations in the timber that form part of its history. Please review the photographs carefully.
