A beautifully restored oak sideboard, combining bold geometric detailing and traditional character with a soft, natural finish and a new quartz top.
Width - 176cm
Depth - 58cm
Height - 93.5cm
Believed to date from the 1920s–1930s, this piece is in the Jacobean Revival style, drawing inspiration from earlier English furniture. Raised diamond mouldings, circular decorative details, fluted uprights and substantial bun feet create a striking, balanced design. A carved central arch and decorative turned elements add further character.
The old finish has been removed through soda blasting, followed by careful sanding to reveal the natural oak grain. A subtle whitewash softens the colour, while two coats of water-based polyurethane provide a protective finish. The interior has been cleaned and oiled, and a new quartz top completes the restoration.
Two spacious drawers and two side cupboards offer useful storage for tableware, linens and everyday essentials. Brass-tone knobs complement the warm wood finish.
The cupboard doors are held closed by magnetic catches and open using the knobs. No keys are supplied, and the cupboards do not lock.
Restored by homewithally, this individual piece would make a beautiful focal point in a dining room, living room or spacious hallway.
As a period piece, it retains age-related marks and natural variations in the timber that form part of its character. Please review the photographs carefully. The date is an estimate based on its design.
